It was originally established under the name '''''Ejercito Terrestre, Aereo y Marino''''' (Army, Air and Marine, '''ETAM''') after staff on the server were seen abusing their power against the local player base. This prompted ETAM to seek out other Spanish-speaking players in order to create a better represented and protected Spanish-speaking community on Garry’s Mod.

In its early days, ETAM faced a number of challenges, the biggest being the lack of available information in Spanish on building ACF contraptions. It also had to deal with minges and other small groups that sought to undermine the security of the servers which ETAM played on.

IJWTB was ETAM’s main server for a long time, but it became necessary to start rebuilding technology and mobilizing to other servers. Learning English was also needed in order to better understand guides and create higher-quality machines.
