The Wojtek-KMI War was a conflict between the Wojtek Pact and the Koupii-Modrik International. Following the conclusion of the Great Gunny War, diplomatic relations between the Wojtek Pact and KMI became increasingly strained for the month of January 2026, culminating in the Wojtek Pact declaring war on KMI.

Prelude

Following the conclusion of the Great Gunny War and the Wojtek Pact's consolidation of Valen Sandbox as a territory, both Wojtek and KMI understood that a conflict would be the logical conclusion of them both being the two main spheres of influence in the faction community. Since both sides had members that strongly disliked each other, conflict was seen as an inevitability. The Wojtek Pact spent the month of January resting in the wake of the Gunny War, while KMI began a gradual reactivation of operations with NPF leader Finnik's return from a brief hiatus.

On the evening of January 19, 2026, NRK leader Sergei and several IW members launched a raid on Sleepless Sandbox, a KMI-owned server, out of boredom. The fight resulted in the discovery of KMI using a helicopter that had a chair outside of the contraption, rendering it invincible even upon crew death. IW member Plab (AKA Mort) reported the problem to YSR leadership in the KATO-IMR embassy discord, but an argument ensued. Neither side came to a resolution over the matter, and relations effectively broke down.

KMI - AFOF War

On January 28, the Wojtek Pact discovered that a battle between the Koupii-Modrik International and the Allied Forces of Order and Freedom was taking place on Valen Sandbox. Seeking to intervene and defend MPTF from what they alleged was sealclubbing, Wojtek member states joined the server intending to fight. Upon arrival, KMI refused to fight the Wojtek Pact unless they agreed to specific terms such as number of participants per side and the exclusion of Sergei. Both sides negotiated the terms with the Wojtek Pact reluctantly accepting a 3v3 while KMI accepted Sergei's inclusion. The enforcement relied on the involvement of the Imperium, who would declare war on the offending side should the terms be violated. Following the battle, which KMI won, the Wojtek Pact's attitude towards KMI reached a flash point. Feeling that KMI had been abusing the Pact's affinity for diplomacy to weaken them and tread on their territory, the Wojtek Pact declared war.

War

Intelligence War

On the day the Wojtek Pact declared war on KMI, an anonymous informant named rocket_launcher2, later discovered to be Computeration, revealed that Verslavia, a Wojtek Pact member state, was actually a KMI spy ring. Upon confrontation, Verslavian leadership confirmed their identities as KMI leadership. To the Wojtek Pact, this was the final straw, as its members had deeply trusted Verslavia and included them in their culture since the Great Gunny War. Although Finnik, who posed as Tannovich, apologized and praised the Pact's deep-seated friendship and camaraderie, the apology was not accepted. March, the leader of the Cerulean Taskforce, who had been a strong proponent of diplomacy, pledged alongside other diplomats that he would never engage in diplomacy with anyone from the KMI sphere again.

IDF Plot

Prior to a scheduled fight for Saturday evening on February 7, Computeration and Novic leaked information that KMI was planning to launch a surprise invasion of Valen on the 6th and frame the Imperial Alliance as the perpetrators. The plan was to use alt accounts and Israeli Merkava tanks styled in IA's building style for the invasion. Fabio, previously known as Xgonn, strongly opposed the invasion since he had insisted to the Wojtek Pact that scheduled fights are the only way they will conduct warfare, while DRS leader Larry opposed the invasion due to it involving Ratakis, an IA member. Despite opposition from Fabio and Larry, Finnik, the leader of NPF, insisted on its execution. The attack was reportedly delayed several times until it was eventually canceled.

Battle of Valen

On February 7 in the mid-afternoon, the scheduled fight between Wojtek and KMI began. Since there had been no discussion on limiting the number of participants for the fight, both sides attempted to utilize the maximum extent of their manpower to the detriment of server performance. The early stages of the battle were unplayable, thus both sides agreed to limiting the battle to a 4v4.

Early Wojtek Gains

Wojtek's combat force consisted mostly of IW members conducting both air and land combat while Sergei acted as a harassment unit, with Wojtek members occasionally rotating members while maintaining 4 participants. In the early stage of the 4v4 battle, KMI suffered considerable aircraft losses while Wojtek experienced minimal losses. For a while, the Wojtek Pact was able to maintain a defense of the Bigcity sewage plant while tasking Ape and Sergei with marauding KMI forces that were attempting to attack the plant as well as suppressing KMI air power.

KMI Offensive

In the middle period of the battle, combat had shifted towards the empty green corner next to the landfill area of the map. Fighting was restricted to tight street corridors with little leeway for Wojtek tanks to flank the enemy. KMI was able to inflict most of Wojtek's tank and aircraft losses during this time. While Wojtek was occupied fighting KMI in the green corner, a separate KMI force slipped through the lines and seized the sewage plant. A major flaw in IW tanks was the server's networking becoming heavily strained, causing starfall chips to fail to initialize which kept them out of the fight for a longer time when respawning.

Wojtek Counteroffensive

With KMI occupying the sewer plant, the Wojtek Pact recognized the need for artillery to flush out the entrenched tanks since aircraft were busy countering KMI helicopters. Phil, being more experienced with artillery, rotated into the battle and utilized an emplacement provided by Leningrad. Wojtek artillery began shelling KMI tanks at the sewage plant, flushing them out of cover where Wojtek tanks could openly engage them. The artillery rendered defensive positions unfeasible as being stationary made KMI tanks vulnerable at all times. Doubled with the lack of space to drive around in the sewer plant, artillery proved powerful in weakening KMI's hold on the plant.

End of the Battle

The battle abruptly ended when several reports of tanks falling through the map reached Wojtek VCs. This indicated that the server's physics had crashed, resulting in the server itself crashing. Wojtek forces quickly rejoined, but all of KMI had fallen back to Sleepless, a KMI owned server, and challenged them to fight there. Wojtek did not trust the request due to it being KMI owned, and did not attempt an invasion of the server out of fear for technology security and lack of faith in a fair fight on the server. Both sides declared victory, but KMI kill estimates range from 18 to 20 while Wojtek kill estimates range from 39 to 43.

End of the War

Following the end of the Battle of Valen, Yakugiria withdrew from the meta and KMI significantly reduced its activity. Despite the relative peace, tensions have remained high between the Wojtek and KMI spheres, and Wojtek was mass-banned from the Global Military Agreement discord, a GMAP-run server, over doxxing accusations. GMA participants also voted to withdraw their diplomatic recognition of the Wojtek Pact, mimicking the pact's earlier de-recognition of GMAP during the Great Gunny War months earlier.

Note: Due to current tensions, any recent engagements between the Wojtek Pact and KMI will be presumed a resumption of the conflict. Whether or not a series of engagements is a resumption of the war or a separate war is dependent on the time between the Battle of Valen and any recent military engagement.
