Snyde

Snyde was a Sandbox server estimating to have spanned from 2013* to about 2018, the server was a major hub of early faction activity and played host to critical historic moments and numerous battles. The server had a notable shitposting culture largely centered around YTP memes which was heavily encouraged by the server owner, Dr. Ivo Robotnik, this could be seen in the unofficial staff member titles like "Pingas Knight" and "Pingas Squire". Dr. Ivo Robotnik was often cited as being a mature, wise, and efficient server owner who maintained an unbiased opinion towards factions that visited Snyde, treating them the same as any other players, but also acknowledged the unique social dynamics of factions and maintained an open dialogue with leaders concerning their members who played on the server. Snyde is often fondly remembered for it's colorful player ecosystem, classic build and kill mod list, variety of factions and other player groups.

History

Second Summer War

Snyde was the central nexus of RFAI deployments during the Second Summer War and the primary front against the influx of minge activity during the 2015 summer break. Other groups like the ABMC and NCUI would be founded on Snyde and assisted in defending the server.

Phoenix Rising's Resignation

On Oct 27, 2015, Phoenix Rising posted a discussion to the Snyde steam group where he resigned as head admin of the server, this event would slowly lead to other veteran staff members leaving the server in the following year.

Snyde "Hype Train" revival

After putting up with Dirtbox Warzone staff for years, dealing with daily abuse of power, continuous staff purges and random player bans, the ABMC directed many of Dirtbox's server regulars to start a hype train with the goal of getting Snyde brought back. The request was posted on Jul 11, 2017 by BlubberyOyster4 in the Snyde steam group discussions page and was flooded with support to bring back the server and on Mar 20, 2018, Ivo brought the Snyde server back online. This revival was tragically uneventful as most of the supporters continued to play on Dirtbox and the most of the new server traffic was IZK invading the server to attack ABMC.
