The newly founded ULSCI was established on June 22, 2016, according to the steam page. The Legendary Protectors would be routed in the Battle of Flatbuild, where a combined fleet of ULSCI and other rebelling players overwhelmed and outnumbered the TLP fleet. After the battle, the Legendary Protectors were not seen until years later. The ULSCI would enter a dormant state until it was deemed necessary to reactivate. Until then, Phil resumed his activity as a regular player on ULSCI.

Phil met FOXCBM around the early summer of 2017. The 102nd "Red Foxes" Combined Military lead by Viper was growing in size and swiftly invited Phil into its ranks. Though not totally inducted as a member as Phil remained aware of his dormant faction, he was still treated with equal respect and friendship by FOXCBM leadership. This friendship would help form the future alliance between the two factions. | Phil met FOXCBM around the early summer of 2017. On July 9, 2017, an SDF naval base was attacked by aircraft with multiple ships being sank or critically damaged in port. Swat07, proclaimed leader of the "minge militia," claimed responsibility. The joint SDF-FOX alliance declared war on the minge militia and began a protracted 3 month long military campaign against the irregular forces. The SDF performed the bulk of naval operations while FOX undertook mostly ground operations, both sides performed air operations equally. On September 4, 2017, SDF naval forces engaged the minge militia in a massive naval battle culminating in the defeat and surrender of the minge militia. Swat07 would later become a friend of Phil and the leader of the ULSCI.

[[Catgopher Industries]] had begun scouting out SCI #1, the flagship server of the network in December 2017. The ULSCI, having never encountered a faction from outside SCI, assumed it was a militia force. Due to the vast amount of anti-faction rebellions during this time, ULSCI assumed the worst and began hostilities. Because the ULSCI garrison was low due to it being nighttime, the base was lost after CGI retaliated with greater numbers. Phil did not take this engagement lightly and advocated for FOXCBM's use of (gbombs 5) nuclear weapons to eradicate CGI forces as FOXCBM contained members who donated to the server, granting them access to nukes. FOX instead reached out to CGI and eventually the two developed amiable relations. CGI's tenure in the Coalition would not last for long. The Coalition already had serious infighting issues due to FOX and ULSCI's debilitating dedication to LARPing, which lead to paranoia regarding CGI's large size. ULSCI cited fears that CGI could easily usurp power if they wished due to their size. Although FOX was a little more tempered regarding their fears, the sentiment was still shared. On January 27, 2018, tensions reached their peak where ULSCI and FOX revealed their concerns to CGI. A CGI member stated "If we wanted to go to war with you guys we would have," to which rubbed the Coalition off the wrong way. This would lead to CGI's ejection from the Coalition and begin their long conflict over the entirety of 2018, with multiple factions joining on either side over the course of 3 wars.

Relations with the staff on Simply Captain Ickys was extremely poor. These relations were mostly due to the Co-Owners hostility, CorvoSnow towards factions for unknown reasons. On multiple occasions the staff harassed Phil in the SCI Discord and made ban threats if he did not bend to their will. On one occasion, the staff threatened to ban Phil if he did not give them the Coalition discord, which when provided, the staff raided. The ULSCI snapped amidst the constant harassment and pressure brought on by the staff and attempted to launch a mass crashing campaign. These plans were leaded by npragland, a moderator the faction was friendly with, which lead to the entire faction being banned in the summer of 2018. Coined by Phil himself, this time period encompasses the collapse of the Coalition and the formation of the unstable Eagle Initiative. This was also followed by constant infighting, heavy scrutiny from the entire meta, as well as unending controversy and overwhelming confusion caused by information warfare. Much record of this time period has been lost and mostly remains in handfuls of screenshots. The Coalition was unstable, lasting only from October 2017 to June 2018. The United Legion and FOXCBM's alliance deteriorated to a breaking point over various disputes. The ULSCI's main grievance was FOXCBM's attempts at strongarming the Coalition's policies and disputes, usually by threatening war against a member state. The ULSCI abruptly cut all relations with FOXCBM sometime in June 2018 and stated that it was best that both factions go their own ways. FOXCBM instead declared war on the United Legion. | The Coalition was unstable, lasting only from October 2017 to June 2018. The ULSCI would engage in tank-on-tank combat for the first time through the Coalition Civil War on two occasions. During a single engagement on an unknown server on gm_redrock, a Mark 2 MBT knocked out multiple FOX export tanks from long range with no losses. In a second and last engagement, both factions would fight toe to toe on gm_carcon in Buuf's dankbuild. Both sides would suffer similar losses, but the United Legion ultimately won by expelling FOX forces from the server. The EI-GMAP War was a short lived conflict due in part to Elias' presence in the GMAP alliance. Elias went on to form the Entente consisting of NRK and SOVIN with himself included. The EI - Entente War was for the most part a war of intelligence and information warfare. Only a handful of battles actually occurred. During this time the ULSCI built its first domestic tank, the L90 Parabellum. The tank would only see combat during a fight on OmegaArena with a single assist kill against an NRK tank on its record. The Parabellum was set to be used during an engagement on Ilya's Slavetown in October, but due to a glitch with ACF, the tank was a ton overweight. After the dissolution of the Eagle Initiative, the ULSCI (still referred to as SDF at this time) was left on its own after the disbandment of FOXCBM. After the shutdown of SCI Servers, the ULSCI searched for servers of similar fashion. This lead them to Cat's Sandbox which was equally as chaotic as their home server. When trying to establish themselves on the server, they encountered [[1-47]], who after a brief encounter engaged each other in conflict. After finding out that 1-47 was a member of NATO, one of the major alliances at the time, the ULSCI was invited and joined as a member state. ULSCI and 1-47 would develop a cordial alliance with each other due to their mutual occupation of Cat's Sandbox. ====Reform and the Idea of Unification==== | ====Reform and the Idea of Unification====
After much technological development, acquiring new weapons for their arsenal more advanced than before, Phil and Swat07 began to discuss future plans for the ULSCI. This is where the Theory of Unification was unintentionally developed following much conversation between the two optimistic figures. It was an idea that expanded the notion of the gmod meta. Instead of seeing it as factions vying for control of Sandbox, they saw it as shattered and broken lands that were in dire need of rebuilding. A key element of this idea was that the factions meta had ruined multiple servers by bringing toxic wars and excessive lag to their doors, with Cat's Sandbox, FGC, and various other servers being examples of this, and as such the ULSCI feelt obligated to protect and rebuild the reputation of the meta. Due to the decline of many groups, including major superpowers, the ULSCI saw this as a prime opportunity to one day defeat all that stood in their way, and "unify" Sandbox once and for all, under their guiding hand. With the manpower, technology, and morale, this idea became ever more real than they thought. It had not been disclosed until a year later, but the major reason that the Federation had split was because of the presence of Swat's alt account and his attempt to maintain its identity as a separate individual. Prior to the Federation's formation, Phil and Swat planned to have his alt take the role of leadership, and then transform the ULSCI into a trollface army, launching a trollface invasion of Gmod servers solely as satire. Due to the formation of the Federation this idea was dropped entirely, yet the alt account remained in place. Phil discussed with Swat that the alt should be removed but for reasons unknown or not remembered this did not occur. The United Legion of Simply Captain Icky's, United Legion or ULSCI, is a faction originating from the defunct Simply Captain Icky's Server Network.
Early Years (2016-2017)
Founding (June 22nd, 2016)
Phil was a member of The Legendary Protectors whom operated on SCI #2, the neurotec branch of the server network. Serving in the Navy of the faction, Phil gained most of his combat experience through naval and air engagements. During a routine patrol, Phil believed he had witnessed the TLP fleet bombarding noncombatant positions. This event would inspire Phil's desertion and rebellion against The Legendary Protectors.
Originally, the rebellion was founded as the Dreadnoughts of War, but Phil was unable to enact any military campaigns against TLP as the DOW due to its founding during a summer vacation. When Phil returned, he scrapped the Dreadnoughts of War and instead began recruiting members for his rebellion, which would then become known as the United Legion of SCI.
During a regular day on SCI #2, the ULSCI was reactivated slowly to assist FOXCBM forces. At this time the ULSCI was known as the Server Defense Force (SDF) for brevity and ease of abbreviation due to its primary goal being the defense of the SCI Server network.
2018
This section covers the ULSCI's history throughout the year 2018.
C.G.I. War
Catgopher Industries had begun scouting out SCI #1, the flagship server of the network in December 2017. The ULSCI relented and CGI was admitted into the Coalition.
SCI Staff Relations
The ULSCI would be unbanned in fall 2018.
Phil had cut off contact with the staff after the network shut down in April 2019. When Datboi attempted to make his own spiritual revival of SCI, the staff attempted to crash the server and raided the discord as well. Since then, Phil maintains a no-contact regimen that persists to this day.
The ULSCI Dark Age
Coined by Phil himself, this time period encompasses the collapse of the Coalition and the formation of the unstable Eagle Initiative. This was also followed by constant infighting, heavy scrutiny from the entire meta, as well as unending controversy and overwhelming confusion caused by information warfare. Much record of this time period has been lost and mostly remains in handfuls of screenshots. Ironically through such a dark time period, this period marked the ULSCI's introduction to mainstream factions.
The Civil War
The Coalition was unstable, lasting only from October 2017 to June 2018. The United Legion and FOXCBM's alliance deteriorated to a breaking point over various disputes. The ULSCI's main grievance was FOXCBM's attempts at strongarming the Coalition's policies and disputes, usually by threatening war against a member state. The ULSCI abruptly cut all relations with FOXCBM sometime in June 2018 and stated that it was best that both factions go their own ways. FOXCBM instead declared war on the United Legion.
On July 4, 2018, ULSCI would come forward with a peace treaty and reinstate their alliance with FOX. The two would form the Eagle Initiative from the ashes of the Coalition and declare war on CGI in search of revenge.
EI - GMAP War
The EI-GMAP War was a short lived conflict due in part to Elias' presence in the GMAP alliance. Elias had siphoned power and influence from the alliance to launch a coup against CGI leadership, which ultimately failed when Elias was expelled. Elias went on to form the Entente consisting of NRK and SOVIN with himself included. The Eagle Initiative and GMAP would unite together to defeat Elias' Entente.
EI - Entente War
The EI - Entente War was for the most part a war of intelligence and information warfare. Only a handful of battles actually occurred. During this time the ULSCI built its first domestic tank, the L90 Parabellum. The tank would only see combat during a fight on OmegaArena with a single assist kill against an NRK tank on its record. The Parabellum was set to be used during an engagement on Ilya's Slavetown in October, but due to a glitch with ACF, the tank was a ton overweight. This led to the United Legion falling back on its retired Mark 2 which resulted in a defeat for EI-GMAP forces. The last battle would occur on SCI #1 in November. The ULSCI was undergoing a process of unbanning from SCI following a long history of tension with the staff. ULSCI-FOX forces would gradually expel Entente forces from the server and declare victory against Elias' alliance after it suddenly disbanded not long after.
Disbandment
Infighting in the Eagle Initiative still persisted. By then, the ULSCI was weary from the internal conflict and the wars in general. The ULSCI held a vote to leave the Eagle Initiative, with the majority in favor of leaving the alliance. The ULSCI left the EI in January 2019, then the discord server was deleted in February, destroying much of its recorded history.
2019
This section covers the ULSCI's history throughout the year 2019.
Post-EI Wars
After the dissolution of the Eagle Initiative, the ULSCI (still referred to as SDF at this time) was left on its own after the disbandment of FOXCBM. After the shutdown of SCI Servers, the ULSCI searched for servers of similar fashion. This lead them to Cat's Sandbox which was equally as chaotic as their home server. When trying to establish themselves on the server, they encountered 1-47, who after a brief encounter engaged each other in conflict. After finding out that 1-47 was a member of NATO, one of the major alliances at the time, the ULSCI was invited and joined as a member state. ULSCI and 1-47 would develop a cordial alliance with each other due to their mutual occupation of Cat's Sandbox. The SDF was renamed back to ULSCI.
NATO-Petrograd War
Sometime in Summer 2019, Izakian forces began to enter Cat's Sandbox. ULSCI and 1-47 forces attacked the main Izakian base in a corner of the map, beginning a series of conflicts that spread throughout multiple servers which became known as the NATO-Petrograd War.
Withdrawal From NATO
1-47 was split in two by NATO due to incidents of immaturity, one half forming the United Commonwealth while the other retained its identity as 1-47. The ULSCI sided with 1-47, believing that NATO had violated its agreement of mutual defense and guarantee of independence for member states. The ULSCI withdrew from NATO on August 8, 2019.
Petrograd Invasion of Valen
1-47 slowly regained members who originally defected to UNC. During this time, the ULSCI and 1-47 stationed themselves on the newly created Valen Sandbox where the United Legion began its domestic aircraft production. Its first fighter, the F-55 Pincer, was the first fighter made by the ULSCI and had a relatively poor performance against more advanced aircraft of the time.
Both factions were not able to fend off a large invasion force composed of IZK and NRK forces. Fighting lasted through September to early October 2019.
End of the Conflict
ULSCI and 1-47 agreed to negotiations to end the conflict, however the demands made were outrageous for both parties such as the seizure of ULSCI technology. In a scorched Earth measure, the ULSCI disbanded while 1-47 resumed negotiations on its own. The conflict would end sometime in mid-October.
Seeking vengeance for the invasion of Valen, the ULSCI was reactivated on November 1 to participate in a "Western Coalition" against Petrograd, however this was short lived.
Orzel Membership
ULSCI sought membership with Orzel for technological knowledge, and was admitted after lengthy talks with Junebug, a then member of NRK High Command on November 17, 2019.
Battle of Lucid Gaming
On January 10, 2020, 1-47 forces stormed the NRK capital of Lucid Gaming in a suicidal attack. Despite previously encroaching on the territory, Orzel only found out until days later. Initial fighting was fierce, and Orzel established a defensive position on one of the skyscrapers of Bigcity. ULSCI forces held a defensive position, fighting off multiple waves of 1-47 attacks on the tower. After hours of fighting, 1-47 forces lost organization and swiftly collapsed, conceding defeat the same day after the battle.
2020-2021
This section covers the history of the ULSCI throughout the years 2020–2021. Not much is known about 2020 relative to this faction's history.
Change in Leadership
Weary from war, Phil retired from gmod factions at the turn of the new year and transferred leadership to Swat07, the then second in command.
The United Legion at this time was suffering from poor technological development and stagnation. The faction was characterized by shortages of every kind in manpower, weapons, development and alliances.
TEC War
During the Summer of 2020, ULSCI was involved in the TEC war on the side of TEC. The United Legion, consisting of about 4 members at this time was responsible for significant contributions to events throughout the conflict. ULSCI was part of a multi-server attack against NATO forces, attacking Apoc Sandbox. During the latter end of the conflict, Swat07 helped spearhead the coup against Ally For Hire due to concerns regarding his provocations against the Petrograd Pact.
Rebirth of the ULSCI
In late January 2021, Phil returned, this time with a new mindset and a moderate outlook on the ULSCI's affairs. He chose to remain as an advisor, refusing to accept any high position of leadership other than his advisory state. Big changes began to happen, on February 16, 2021, the ULSCI and the 1-47 completed negotiations and merged. Dual-Membership was applied to all 1-47 newcomers, and following suit, technological development was resumed once more.
Reform and the Idea of Unification
For the first time in its history, elections were held on March 5, 2021, with Swat07 retaining his leadership after a majority vote.
Conflict with the Imperial Alliance
Nearing the end of the long reformation period, the ULSCI and 1-47 began discussions about how to approach a potential conflict with the Imperial Alliance, a faction notorious for extreme controversy and a terrible reputation formed from the remnants of the Technology Engineering Coalition. Given that the Federation and the Imperial Alliance were some of the only active meta factions left, the Federation believed war was inevitable with them.
On April 14, 2021, IA attacked 1-47 during a routine patrol on FGC, a vanilla sandbox server. The Federation officially declared war on IA at 10:31PM EST.
Sovinian Civil War
In the midst of the first battle, Sergei, the former leader of NRK, contacted Phil to request that 1-47 stop shooting at him. When asked, Sergei said that he was fighting alongside 1-47 despite his dislike for them. After further investigation, it was discovered that SOVIN had fallen into civil war, with the Imperial Alliance siding with the "West" side, and Sergei siding with the "East" side. The ULSCI recognized East SOVIN as the official government the same day, just 2 hours after war broke out. However it was not until later that the ULSCI realized that the SOVIN civil war was a shitpost.
The Federation Splits
On the morning of April 17, 2021, Phil, Swat07 and a fellow 1-47 member were quarantined without explanation by RSMF leader JonahSoldier. After some time later, Jonah posted an announcement accusing ULSCI leadership of incompetence, overstepping boundaries, poor planning and mismanagement. Following the controversy, 1-47 seceded from the Federation in a majority vote that was personally requested to be called early by Swat07, resulting in a 7–0 vote. Swat then posted a series of clauses describing the status of ULSCI - 1-47 relations after the vote (see image). Following the brief collapse of the Federation, the ULSCI was weakened in manpower. The group planned to lay low, and had withdrawn from the conflict with IA. The traditional military junta was also restored as the leadership saw no use for the previous democratic system.
Phil brought up the fact that the alt would essentially give Swat two chances at winning the elections for leadership, effectively rigging it. This was one of the grievances that 1-47 cited for breaking from the Federation. Regardless, the ULSCI perceived it as a betrayal that completely destroyed any prospect of dominating sandbox, which greatly infuriated the leadership at the time.
1-47 - ULSCI War
Following the split, ULSCI released a series of cryptic videos aimed at 1-47. These were the only communications between the two factions after the schism. On April 22, ULSCI and 1-47 forces openly and directly engaged each other on FGC, ULSCI formally declared war on 1–47 after a second battle occurred two days later. Accusations of ULSCI changing ideologies were issued by 1-47, due to the use of communist-related music in one of the videos issued to 1-47. ULSCI leadership denied the ideological change, but 1-47 refused the explanation and followed with a large volume of anti-communist rhetoric aimed at ULSCI. ULSCI attacked the Anti-Cringe Association (ACA), a faction that they accused of having relations with 1-47, multiple times during the last week of April 2021.
World War 4
During this period of tension, multiple requests were made by GMAP to cease raids against ACA, with these requests being ignored or denied. After NRK Leader Sergei discovered Catgopher98's reddit through a Discord connection, he eventually found his other social media and other personal information such as his college and the state he resides in. Sergei entered his college's discord and spammed offensive remarks. This led to an exponential growth of tension, with KAI Leader Ally For Hire deciding to declare war on all IA and IA aligned groups, including the ULSCI, on May 5, 2021. Following the declaration of war, the ULSCI revealed its allegiance to the Orzel Alliance. The ULSCI's involvement in the war had been substantial in the non-ACF realm. Most of its participation was credited toward the campaign against the Anti-Cringe Association. Although the ULSCI had little ACF weaponry, they were credited with 1 assist kill against a Thumper copy made by GC. The ULSCI also experienced a surge in tank development, which came to a grinding halt in late May when Phil suddenly bailed out of the situation, citing fears of external attacks from GMAP (IE Swatting, Doxxing, ETC).
2022-2023
This section covers the history of the ULSCI throughout the years 2022–2023
KATO-Petrograd War
The ULSCI remained a neutral faction throughout the duration of the war. By this time the ULSCI had transitioned away from mainstream factions and turned into a friend group that played primarily of Courier's Build & Kill. Though the ULSCI was neutral, it leaned slightly in favor of Petrograd. The United Legion did not participate in any combat actions during the war.

2024
This section covers the history of the ULSCI throughout the year 2024.
ULSCI produced a video series in a fictional setting of the factions meta, releasing only 2 out of 8 planned episodes due to scheduling constraints.
ACF
The United Legion of SCI first made moves into ACF in the middle of 2018 during its conflicts with CGI. A primarily defensive faction, the ULSCI's first ACF weapons were stationary turrets. These turrets were first deployed on Under the Crosshairs, CGI's home server, during Coalition incursions into it. The only recorded action was an anti air turret shooting down a CGI jetpack.
At this time, the ULSCI and the Coalition were receiving the bulk of their ACF weaponry through Bragda and Leningrad, the former building for FOXCBM and the latter building for the ULSCI. Unlike its ally FOXCBM, whom had grown entirely dependent on Bragda's exports, the ULSCI sought the tutoring of Leningrad. Though progress was slow, the ULSCI would make a handful of tanks with mediocre quality. FOXCBM had made no attempt at learning ACF manufacturing, pressuring the ULSCI to develop technology at a faster rate to Phil's chagrin.
The most ubiquitous tank of the ULSCI was the Mark 2 Main Battle Tank, an export made by Leningrad. This tank served as the forefront of the ULSCI's armored forces up to late 2018, first seeing combat during the Coalition Civil War against FOXCBM export tanks with great success. The tank would later be retired in favor of the domestically produced L90 Parabellum and eventually the Contender MBT which would be used against invading NRK-IZK forces on Valen Sandbox in 2019. ULSCI tanks by 2019 were capable of combat, but not up to par against the tanks of major factions.
ULSCI ACF technology would remain mostly stagnant in the time afterward, mostly due to ULSCI's withdrawal from the main factions meta in favor of friend group activities, although technology and expertise is occasionally lent by Phil2014.
