IMR, officially known as The Imperium, is a major faction in the Gmod meta. Previously, IMR was fiercely aggressive, actively seeking engagements with any faction, though today IMR maintains a dormant posture to keep levels of escalation low. In its history, it has acted as the spearhead in conflicts between major alliances.

IMR was founded sometime in 2019 by Arna, and went inactive in 2021. Not much is known about this period, as IMR did not bother to document its history. In July 2022, Novic & Hito founded Neo-IMR, the heir to the old Imperium. As the founding purpose of Neo-IMR was to have the longest unbroken winning streak, ever since the creation of Neo-IMR, we have lost one fight on pvp against CSI, and none on ACF.

Ever since the founding of Neo-IMR, IMR has been a strictly ACF-based faction, acting rarely within PvP communities. It was a member of the Imperial Alliance, Technology Engineering Coalition, Orzel Alliance, and KMI. As of 2025, it is independent, and not a member of any major alliance. Its closest allies to this day remain CTF, ISA, NPF, and YSR.

During 2022, IMR was largely recovering from its inactivity, recruiting members and beginning production of its service vehicles. The (almost) full list of vehicles can be found here. The most notable vehicles made domestically by IMR were the Kondor and the Apartheid, both of which serving for a full year before being replaced by the Cascade. IMR partook in the CSI-YSR war in late 2022, fighting two battles for YSR, as a private military group. Later on IMR would join the Slavingrad Pact, and swap sides to fight YSR in the conflict, helping CSI win the war against YSR. IMR would then go on to fight on UNR's side in the Yakugirian civil war, which despite UNR winning all of its fights resulted in YSR winning due to being the only party left standing. IMR chose to not pursue the war, as it was deemed pointless after the collapse of UNR. As late 2022 was the end stage of FDV, IMR did not participate in large scale battles on ACF.

During 2023, IMR began its first major ACF operations since 2021. After the fall of the Slavingrad Pact, IMR entered a tripartite pact with ACA and the AO, to fight the GC, GPK, SPRA, SSR, YSR, and the 148th. ACA dropped out of the fight, the AO lost its own against GPK, meanwhile IMR won the fight against GC. After these events, IMR ended up allying with the second Imperial Alliance to fight against IZK & KATO, and launching a full-scale invasion of Valen & Noob, claiming the servers. In this year, the Cascade and the Relict (two of the most successful IMR MBT's) would fight many battles, besting IZK & KATO on Valen, and removing FAI's presence off of Noob. IMR had climbed back onto the top of the meta, and set IZK & KATO as its enemies.

During 2024, IMR heavily escalated the ACF minmax scene, creating designs that would prove superior, and much more cancerous to everything previously made. Utilizing primitives and the idea of star destroyers, Snoopy went on to create armor layouts that other parties copied using the newly introduced ACF scanner. Novic then refitted the armor setup to function on a vertical turret axis, and used max-size tubes as aircraft baseplates, reviving the gun-aimed turret tank meta, and marking the beginning of the most abusive aircraft. though, with the later introduction of crew to ACF, these designs became obsolete. In June, August and December, IZK would attempt to retake Valen from IMR, failing all three times. After the events of the truth nuke, where IA would use heavily illegal vehicles in an attempt to combat KATO on Valen, IMR began questioning why they were allied to IA. It was at this time they evaluated the personality traits and actions of those who were in IA, and realized this wasn't an alliance worth fighting for.

Novic then refitted the armor setup to function on a vertical turret axis, and used max-size tubes as aircraft baseplates, reviving the gun-aimed turret tank meta, and marking the beginning of the most abusive aircraft. Luckily, with the introduction of crew to ACF, these designs became obsolete and a horror of the past. In June, August and December, IZK would attempt to retake Valen from IMR, failing all three times. During 2025, IMR officially severed ties with IA, after finding out about their plans to pre-emptively strike IMR by rallying KATO and GMAP against them. As a result, IMR joined KMI, and swiftly reacted to IA by using their idea against them first, leaking many screenshots of IA's inner chats (most of which captured socially unacceptable behavior), and other lies IA had told, to KATO. This marked the point at which tensions between IZK, KATO and IMR rapidly cooled down, as both sides came to terms with each other. A joint relations server between IZK, KATO and IMR was established, where the parties would further communicate to each other. IMR then began helping KATO's devs of ACF to bugtest and improve the newly introduced crew update, and entered an alliance with CTF. IMR dropped its claims on Valen shortly after, leaving Valen to be contested by KMI and the Coalition. Despite being in rival alliances, IMR stayed out of fights between KMI and the Coalition. Part of IMR's interests were to not escalate the ACF situation further, whereas KMI interests lied in dealing with the Coalition. IMR deemed these interests to be conflicting, so they ended up leaving the KMI alliance.

During 2026, IMR was acting as a spokesperson / middleman between KATO & KMI, oftentimes regulating conflicts between the two parties. KMI often fought for IMR's intervention in the conflict, though IMR was suspecting that KMI would turn to IA in their absence, which resulted in IMR testing KMI. Later, through leaks, IMR deemed KMI was willing to work with IA, and cut ties following these events.

Imperia is a supermassive planet located roughly 13 billion lightyears away from earth. It is estimated to be around 12.3 billion years old, meanwhile the imperian race likely formed roughly 2.1 billion years after the formation of Imperia. Biodiversity on Imperia was insanely vast, as the planet featured and supported many different terrain and lifeforms, however, conditions on Imperia forced lifeforms to adapt to the most hostile situations. Winters would often freeze the entire planet, and summers left most parts of the planet on fire. The atmosphere was insanely dense, to the point that some lifeforms were able to walk on it.

The imperian race, from now on referred to as "the Imperians", is the sole survivor, and the victor of the "War over Imperia", a conflict lasting 100 millennia for dominance against every other civilisation over control of the entire planet. They are humanoid, being structurally similar to humans. Key differences in their biology to humans are size, sensory organ count, muscular density, bone material, digestive system and respiratory system. Pre-conversion Imperians were roughly 5 times as large as humans and featured 4 eyes (wider eyesockets, fitting two eyeballs each). Imperians have advanced optimized muscles thrice as dense as humans, allowing them to carry 150x their body weight without much issues and bones mineralized with wolframite making them be able to carry way heavier loads. Imperians feature long reverse joint legs, which give them more vertical jump, higher tops speeds, and overall better versatility. Their superacidic digestive system allowed them to eat any lifeform they come across, and gills on the base of the neck to breathe underwater. On their body they have black solar pigments able to absorb sunlight and undergo photosynthesis. These solar pigments are dense around the arms and legs, however leave the thighs, upper arm, torso, neck and head area with "whitebone" armored skin pigments. All of their vital organs are under these whitebone pigments, offering great laceration and puncture resistance. Imperians are able to regenerate any lost body part, aslong as their brain is not severely damaged and they gain enough resources to fully regenerate their body. Pre-conversion imperial hospitals had large pods of biofuel, specifically designed to help wounded Imperians regenerate faster and safely. Similar to humans, their lifespan is limited by shortening of telomeres. Regenerating bodyparts heavily shortened the lifespan of an Imperian.

History

IMR was founded sometime in 2019 by Arna, and went inactive in 2021. Not much is known about this period, as IMR did not bother to document its history. In July 2022, Novic & Hito founded Neo-IMR, the heir to the old Imperium. As the founding purpose of Neo-IMR was to have the longest unbroken winning streak, ever since the creation of Neo-IMR, it has lost one fight on pvp against CSI, and none on ACF.

2019-2021

During 2019 and 2021, IMR largely served with Orzel on ACF and Daktank. They are unable to provide much information on what IMR participated in, as mentioned above.

2022-Present

Ever since the founding of Neo-IMR, IMR has been a strictly ACF-based faction, acting rarely within PvP communities. It was a member of the Imperial Alliance, Technology Engineering Coalition, Orzel Republics, and the Koupii-Modrik Internationale. As of 2025, it is independent, and not a member of any major alliance. Its closest allies to this day remain CTF and ISA.
