The Nacion Imperial de America (English: Imperial Nation of America, NIA) [was] a nation of South American origin formed with the purpose of being protectors of peace, security and order of servers. It was founded on December 16, 2016 and disbanded on May 24th,
2019.
The Beginning
The Nacion Imperial de America was founded on the server IJWTB (I Just Want To Build). It was originally established under the name Ejercito Terrestre, Aereo y Marino (Army, Air and Marine, ETAM) after staff on the server were seen abusing their power against the local player base. This prompted ETAM to seek out other Spanish-speaking players in order to create a better represented and protected Spanish-speaking community on Garry’s Mod.
In its early days, ETAM faced a number of challenges, the biggest being the lack of available information in Spanish on building ACF contraptions. It also had to deal with minges and other small groups that sought to undermine the security of the servers which ETAM played on.
First Reform - The First Explorations
IJWTB was ETAM’s main server for a long time, but it became necessary to start rebuilding technology and mobilizing to other servers. Learning English was also needed in order to better understand guides and create higher-quality machines.
In mid-2017, ETAM began moving to servers such as Real Builders, GGG, and others with the purpose of meeting new communities. These servers were considered laggier than IJWTB, so ETAM’s activity on them varied, with the group still primarily playing on IJWTB.
Second Reform - The Last Explorations
ETAM had already progressed significantly since its founding. However, it was viewed as necessary to change a couple things about the faction, this would prompt ETAM to rebrand to Ejercito Tronador de AMerica (Thundering Army of AMerica, ETAM) since it's original name didn't really make sense in context of Garry's Mod. After these reformations, NIA would expand outside of it's current sphere and join servers with the Build/Kill tag, one of these servers was Trump's Hair, a server which would become an important part of ETAM's history.
Transition into NIA, Downfall, and Dissolution - WORK IN PROGRESS!
In June of 2018, ETAM would restructure into the Nacion Imperial de America (Imperial Nation of America). They would ally with the Nationalist Republic of Sovinia, which would lead them into conflict with other factions such as the Inner Sphere Alliance, They would later engage in conflict with Tau Neutrino and Izakia.
In late 2018, NIA's status in the Meta would deteriorate due to rumors and alleged smear campaigns against the group, reportedly by ISA and IZK.
NIA struggled to find it's place during the political maneuvering of the Post-ISA Era following ISA's collapse in April of 2019. On May 24th, 2019, NIA would officially disband, citing increasing toxicity, lack of action against illegal practices, and irreparable diplomatic standing.
