The XM2 Khabib was an Inner Sphere Alliance MBT based on it's predecessor, the XM1 Thumper. The XM2 Khabib was the center of the Khabib Scandal, after it was found to be equipped with a number of illegalities and exploits to give the tank extremely unfair advantages beyond what was even possible with tanks during its time.

History

Development

Not much is known about the initial development of the XM2, but it is presumed that it was produced to replace, or supplement the XM1 Thumper in combat during the parting days of the Seven Months' War.

By far the most illegal tanks in ACF combat history, the XM2 was able to rip through any legal tank with ease. The XM2 has been referred to as an exploit pack, due to how many unfair advantages it has, which were revealed on IZK's infamous video, "Hypocrisy".

Design

Design

The XM2 platform used both exploits that were common, and some that had never been seen before, although aspects of it were legal, the majority of it was not.

Some examples of exploits found on the XM2 include:

  • Prop not solid ammo / armor
  • Anti flip E2
  • E2 mobility (applyForce())
  • Visclipped wheels
  • Automatic engagement RWS with autolead
  • Fire support mode, able to turn main gun into high angle artillery piece
  • Able to launch a fire support drone, which can scan for targets, relay targeting data to allies, and shoot down enemy aircraft

Engines and Mobility

It can be argued that the XM2's strongest weapon is it's mobility, as it allows for a more flexible play style. The XM2's mobility is powered by a very strong E2 mobility chip, hidden in an E2 in the XM2 called "Cam Controller". It allowed for speeds that were simply not possible with ACF engines.

Armament

The XM2 was armed with the strongest loadout ever seen on an ISAF vehicle. A 140mm Auto-Loading Cannon, and a 30mm Heavy Rotary Auto-Cannon. Both of these weapons had exploits that allowed for no reloading whatsoever, and the 140mm Auto-Loading Cannon had another exploit, called "Fire-Support" mode. This mode allowed the 140mm Auto-Loading Cannon to turn into a high angle artillery piece. On top of all of this, the XM2 also had a fire support drone, which was also illegal. This drone scanned the map for targets, relaying targeting data to allies, and could also shoot down enemy aircraft.

Armor

All of the armor on the XM2 was propNotSolid() armor, which was a relatively new exploit at the time, which was just about entirely invulnerable.
