The Great Gunny War, also referred to by The Great Wait War or The Great Waitriotic Snore, is a conflict between the revived Coalition and the Garry's Mod Alliance Pact on Valen Sandbox. The conflict came after declining relations between the KATO-IZK sphere and GMAP as well as the debut of ACF crew. The Great Gunny War is the first ever conflict that involved the use of ACF Crew vehicles.
Prelude (March–June 2025)
Following the conclusion of the Great Weight War at the end of March, both sides had declared victory. Each side cited their own reasons as to why they won. GMAP perceived the conflict from a broader lens, counting battles before and outside of Theater of Operations as part of their victories, while the Coalition adopted a narrower lens and focused exclusively on their victories on Theater, having never considered the engagements prior to be one continuous war. The lack of a unified consensus on who won the conflict lead to dissatisfaction within the Coalition after the war's end. Furthermore, KATO and IMR established an embassy between each other in an effort to deescalate tensions following numerous incidents where KATO-IZK and IMR forces exchanged ammo bombs during ACF fights. Later on, IZK was invited to the embassy. Conflict with GMAP had begun due to the shared belief that IMR was maliciously influencing them. KATO later learned that IMR was actually there to counter attempts by the Imperial Alliance to influence GMAP. This was not known to KATO until the 12th of February, the day the embassy was established. KATO resolved to continue the war due to general distaste for GMAP's behavior.
Internal discussion within the KATO-IZK sphere between Phil, Sergei, and Tox about reviving the defunct SCI Coalition that had resisted GMAP from 2018 to 2019 was sparse and mostly discussed as a joke. However, after the end of the Great Weight War, the Coalition was officially revived. KATO members and IZK retain their original identities or membership status within respective alliances, with the Coalition acting as a general title for member factions opposing the Garry's Mod Alliance Pact. The Coalition is also sometimes referred to as the Wojtek Pact, but this is used primarily by IZK members who wanted to revive the old alliance. Both titles are used to describe the same alliance, often leading to some confusion.
Following the war, the Coalition declined in major public activity in the meta save for individual appearances. Between the months of March and June, members of the Coalition acted as beta testers for the ACF Crew Update in undisclosed locations. Near Mid-June, the Coalition ramped up its activity slightly, invading the IA capitol server, CKC, and successfully defeating FAI forces in two consecutive battles after they switched the server to ACF-2. The Coalition also made two appearances on Versailles Sandbox and engaged IA and YSR forces out of boredom.
Beginning
Following multiple delays, the Coalition occupied Valen Sandbox on the 28th of June, 2025 and remained for 2 hours.[1] At the same time, the Coalition published a declaration of war against the Garry's Mod Alliance Pact. Due to GMAP's lack of ACF crew vehicles, no ACF combat or fighting occurred in any major capacity in the opening two weeks of the war.
Battle of Noob (Coalition Victory)[2]

On July 8, 2025, NRK leader Jarck joined Noob, a common faction hub, prompting a heavy GMAP response. The situation escalated rapidly, with Verslavia joining to fight GMAP which prompted reinforcements in turn. While Verslavia performed the bulk of infantry combat, Coalition snipers harassed GMAP forces from long range. Independent actors such as Fabinot and YSR leader Crisis fought everyone casually. Near the latter stage of the battle, Caesar's Legion joined the server and utilized previously retired ACF power armor suits to provide heavy fire support for Verslavian infantry. GMAP forces took severe losses and gradually retreated from the server, with Catgopher leaving last. Verslavia was admitted into the Coalition following the battle.

Noob Deescalation
On July 9, 2025, Coalition and YSR forces (which were neutral in the conflict) engaged on Noob Sandbox in the afternoon. Due to Noob's lack of enforcement of crew vehicles, non-crew vehicles remained functional, giving YSR an upper hand in fighting Izakian crew vehicles. The battle erupted into a heated argument over the use of non-crew vehicles and personal attacks and YSR's admittance of former Imperial Alliance members such as Ratakis and Duff. Baccio, leader of Kathlaxia, intervened and successfully deescalated the situation. Coalition and Yakugirian members continued discussions in the Global Military Agreement discord voice channel and agreed to deescalate the conflict between each other. As a result, the Coalition and Yakugiria reached a state of neutrality between each other.
Battle of Gendrome (Inconclusive)
On July 12, 2025, a mixed Ludasian-Verslavian force invaded Gendrome and interrupted a GMAP training session. The battle lasted an hour with both sides suffering heavy casualties and enduring extreme lag conditions. K/D calculations have proven excessively difficult due to multiple player crashes during the latter end of the fight as the lag intensified.
Versailles Campaign
Versailles Skirmish (Minor Engagement)
On July 16, 2025, a Coalition force consisting of IZK, NRK, CTF, and LUD joined Versailles to engage DRS. GMAP was reinforced by Shadow Company, but quickly retreated from the server, citing the time as being too late to commit to a fight.
Battle of Versailles (Coalition Victory)[3]

On July 24, 2025, Coalition forces noticed a GMAP-DRS presence on Versailles. Assuming it was a training exercise, a scout was sent to survey the scene, only to find out that it was a genuine GMAP incursion. A combined NRK, LUD, and IZK force joined the server and engaged a handful of GMAP tanks, which were DRS exports. Following the loss of 3 tanks and advdupe2 losing functionality occasionally during the battle, both forces relegated to standard M9K PVP for most of the battle. Coalition forces utilized combined arms warfare, with infantry being supported by an IFV from International Weapons Conglomerate driven by Ape. This gave them a significant advantage dealing with GMAP forces, and even cleared out one small base with its supporting fire. The battle lasted an estimated 2 hours, with ULSCI reinforcements arriving and putting extra pressure on GMAP with infantry and armored forces. GMAP forces gradually withdrew from the server and conceded defeat.
The Coalition had previously claimed Versailles as shown in a propaganda video,[4] but after hearing that the server staff wished for the server to remain neutral, the Coalition withdrew its claim after an internal discussion.

2nd Battle of Versailles (Stalemate/Minor GMAP Victory)
(I was personally not there, there will be a lot of missing details -Phil)
On July 25, 2025, Coalition forces engaged GMAP on Versailles sandbox for the 2nd time. During the battle, the map switched to gm_bigcity_improved where fighting continued. The battle became very chaotic due to the use of 3 different mediums: Glide, ACF, and M9K. This complicated the means to combat each other's vehicles, as Glide could kill ACF but not vice versa, while M9K could kill both. Both sides fought hard, but the resulting K/D calculations caused a divide between who won the battle. Since the K/D difference was 0.002 (which equates to 1 kill), the Coalition considers the battle to be a stalemate, while GMAP considers it to be a victory.

Versailles Controversy
Versailles began experiencing a period of decline after August 15 after DRS declared war on MPTF, the native clan that garrisons the server. Wattson, a DRS member, had defected to MPTF. Due to the conflict, MPTF server staff banned multiple clans from the server, claiming that DRS had violated the server's mandate that claims were prohibited. After the controversy reached the rest of the community, the bans were eventually lifted. Immediately the next day, dupesteal allegations spread on the server after MPTF members were allegedly seen possessing DRS technology. A server random fueled the controversy by alleging that he had seen them spawning out tech from various KMI factions and reviewing them in private. These allegations ultimately fell flat as it was discovered that the random was a former ISA member attempting to cause chaos.
Various other grievances with the server have significantly harmed its reputation, citing inconsistent rule enforcement, general incompetence, and delayed response times to reports of rulebreaking. DRS went as far as declaring Versailles a "TTN category server" in reference to That Sandbox Server. As a result of these controversies and concerns with security, the Coalition scaled back official operations on the server. After the fog was cleared and the dupesteal allegations were debunked, the Coalition played on the server casually to fight KMI and spectate other smaller conflicts that occurred.
Valen Campaign
1st Battle of Valen (Coalition Victory)[5]
Throughout the course of the war, only token GMAP forces had attempted to contest the Coalition's occupation of Valen Sandbox. The primary GMAP force engaging the Coalition on Valen was DRS, led by Larry. Nearly all incursions had been carried out by DRS, but faced overwhelming Coalition defenses each time. The Coalition has stated that these battles will not be counted against GMAP because they were short-lived and involve DRS being very outnumbered.
This changed following a direct invasion of Valen by CGI-DRS forces on July 30. The Coalition had such a huge response that the server neared its maximum player limit, forcing some to leave or be kicked by an admin to make room for GMAP. The battle originally was meant to be between ULSCI and GMAP explicitly, but frustration against GMAP's inaction by the Coalition had reached a fever pitch, and the rest of the alliance participated in the battle anyway. ULSCI forces made up the bulk of the fight early on, but IZK, VSR, CTF, KAX, and IW began to rotate into the fight. GMAP forces maintained cohesion despite the Coalition's advances, but ultimately fell to flanking attacks and combined arms warfare supplemented by ULSCI and CTF air support. The map also switched from gm_warmap to gm_bigcity, where GMAP armored forces took greater losses as they became scattered and vastly outnumbered. The battle lasted a total of two hours, with GMAP conceding the fight and stating that they would continue the fight for Valen sandbox the next day.
The Battle of Valen is one of if not the largest tank battles in Garry's Mod Faction history. Almost all of Valen sandbox's 24 player slots were filled, and tanks engaged each other in platoon numbers. The server experienced high lag conditions, but both sides endured and fought through the lag.

KXMI Skirmishes and ULSCI's "Great Crusade"

On August 4, A minor KATO force engaged Larry, believing him to be GMAP. However, Larry was in fact fighting for KXMI after GMAP refused to aid him. KXMI forces engaged KATO with heavy losses on both sides. Since KXMI and the Coalition were not at war with each other, a breakdown in the diplomatic situation ensued. This was compounded further when ULSCI, a Coalition member, launched their Great Crusade, declaring war on every faction out of boredom and engaging both sides. Before this however, Bozostan, a former Kestrel-Astria Treaty Organization faction, was fighting its own war on NPC Zombies Vs. Players out of boredom. Castle, the leader of Bozostan, saw this as an opportunity to create more positive relations between the two. However, on 7/27/2025, Ludasia's leader Phil would negotiate with KXMI, asking for KXMI to stop sending PvPers to ACF fights as-long as Coalition didn't help Bozostan on NPC Zombies Vs. Players, This upset the members of Bozostan who would view this as a sign of weakness from the Coalition and KATO, thus leading to the expulsion of most KATO figures from the Bozostan discord and the severing of communication between the two on a large scale. Due to this recent diplomatic incident, Bozostan would support ULSCI in its great crusade, providing man power and infantry support. Upon ULSCI's launch of the crusade it was promptly ejected from the Coalition. Despite lines being drawn, confusion amongst the Coalition regarding who was and wasn't an enemy made the 3-way battle untenable, and thus withdrew from the battle. KXMI continued fighting ULSCI forces until they withdrew as well, then declared victory. This would be ULSCI's only battle of their crusade as time was drawing short and summer was ending.
KXMI heavily criticized GMAP for refusing to aid Larry in taking back their lost territory. Larry then announced his withdrawal from GMAP, citing their lack of aid on multiple instances.

2nd KXMI Skirmish
The Coalition took offense towards KXMI's occupation on the server and their celebration following yesterday's battle. On August 5, Coalition forces secured control of Valen Sandbox in a rapid invasion. Due to overwhelming Coalition numbers, KXMI was pushed out of their defensive positions at the sewage plant on gm_bigcity and withdrew from the server. Relations between KXMI and the Coalition soured as a result of the battle, with KXMI insisting that the Coalition was taking it too seriously.
2nd Battle of Valen
Prelude
During Coalition discussions regarding a course of action following recent fights with KXMI, the alliance received news about GMAP bringing the Imperial Alliance, an alliance known for having cheaters such as Bluemetaknight and Breacher, into its fold. This sparked community-wide outrage, and the Coalition and KXMI alliances agreed to a ceasefire to fight against a common enemy. Yakugiria and the Imperium both warned GMAP that if they did not expel IA from its alliance, then they would declare war. Since CatGopher98, GMAP's leader, remained silent on the matter, the Coalition prepared to fight a protracted war against a GMAP-IA combined force.
Battle
On August 6, a small GMAP force consisting of CGI, SOL, and SC arrived on Valen. A massive Coalition response began, with IW, CTF, LUD, IKR, NRK, VSR, and IZK mobilizing in defense of the server. Upon changing the map to gm_warmap, Catgopher did not reconnect. As the Coalition set up positions on a hill, Imperial Alliance forces were spotted deploying tanks, some having GMAP roundels. Coalition artillery suppressed any attempt by GMAP to launch an attack, with tanks positioning themselves to hit targets from multiple angles at once. GMAP forces attempted multiple breakouts from one of the fortresses signature to gm_warmap, but were stopped each time by superior Coalition firepower. The Imperial Alliance attempted to aid GMAP, but were defeated by direct fire artillery, aircraft, and close quarters tank fights. GMAP was outnumbered and outgunned, and silently withdrew from the server. Mr. Radd complained about an NRK tank using a primitive prop as its turret armor, which breaks the implicit agreement by both belligerents not to use primitives for the main armor of a tank, and KATO assured him that it would be fixed.

KMI Intervention
Due to inactivity from GMAP, the Coalition had declared victory on August 13. In a two-pronged operation the next day, GMAP and KXMI occupied both Valen and Versailles Sandbox, challenging the Coalition to contest their occupation in the early afternoon. Coalition forces waited to muster a large enough force to respond, but by the time they had the numbers to match the Valen occupation forces, they had already left. Problems were compounded by the fact that Versailles had ACF damage perms set to build (making ACF useless) and KXMI had all but completely filled up the 24 player limit on Valen. KMI also formally declared war on the Coalition for unknown reasons as of recent. Valen remained a contested territory and a battle was organized for the 17th. As a result of hostilities between KMI and the Coalition, IMR left the former.
3rd Battle of Valen (Inconclusive)
On August 17, Coalition and KMI forces began fighting at around 5:30 PM EST. The battle lasted 2 hours with both sides gaining and losing momentum throughout various periods of the battle. Both sides suffered heavy losses, but KMI withdrew from the battle after 2 hours had passed, with Crisis conceding defeat (which was contested by the rest of KMI leadership). A major controversy was the use of automated anti-air turrets by KMI during the battle, which were the cause of many KATO aircraft losses. Due to the dangerous precedent of automated weaponry and the historical taboo associated with it, both sides agreed to ban it from further use in the conflict.
Late Stage
Improved relations with KMI following the 3rd Battle of Valen and an agreement to hold off on conducting serious battles led to the conflict slowing down significantly. With both GMAP and the Coalition reducing their activity due to factors such as burnout, the end of summer, and resumption of education, serious fighting effectively ceased after the 3rd Battle of Valen. Though there were multiple skirmishes between the Coalition and KMI on Versailles, both sides agreed that they were not serious fights. The Coalition ultimately achieved its goal of pushing GMAP out of Valen sandbox and taking it for themselves, inflicting heavy losses on them in doing so. Hostilities have not officially ended, though major fighting has effectively ceased. It is expected that combat will resume with the beginning of the winter holiday.
